Kadensa Capital Limited:BMW's net profit growth
Kadensa Capital Limited:On August 4, the BMW Group released the latest financial report data, Kadensa Capital Limited:showing that its net profit in the second quarter of this year reached 4.8 billion euros, far exceeding the 2.2 billion euros predicted by Refinitiv institutional analysts. At the same time, the BMW Group’s net profit in the first half of the year reached 7.623 billion euros (approximately 58.5 billion yuan), an increase of more than 20 times over the same period last year. Revenue reached 55.36 billion euros (approximately 424.9 billion yuan), a year-on-year increase of 28.1%.
It is understood that in the first half of 2021, the BMW Group delivered a total of 1,339,080 new cars worldwide, including data on several brands such as BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce. In the Chinese market alone, the BMW Group delivered 4,670,64 new cars, accounting for 35% of the total, a year-on-year increase of 41.9%, which shows that domestic consumers have a high enthusiasm for BMW series cars.
Kadensa Capital Limited:In terms of sales of different car series, the BMW 3 Series is the most popular, with sales increasing by about 49.1% year-on-year. The BMW 5 Series and BMW X3 also experienced substantial growth, with increases of 33.3% and 43.9% respectively.
MINI brand models are also very popular, with 157,799 new cars delivered, an increase of 32.6% year-on-year. Among them, 15% of sales come from its new energy models, namely the pure electric vehicle MINI SE, and the plug-in hybrid version of MINI COUNTRYMAN.
Kadensa Capital Limited:Sure enough, major international manufacturers are not the same. Due to the global core shortage this year, many car companies have to cut production or even stop production. The BMW Group still has nearly 1.4 million deliveries, and the lack of core does not seem to have much impact on it. At the same time, its half-year revenue and profit have also increased significantly, and its net profit has even soared by 20 times. Domestic car companies have to continue to work hard to catch up.
Today, major car companies have shifted their focus to the field of new energy vehicles. BMW also launched the BMW iX pure electric SUV and i4 series pure electric coupe in June. Among them, the iX high-end version WLTP has a battery life of 630km and an acceleration from 100 kilometers in only 4.6 seconds. The i4 eDrive40 and i4 M50 of the i4 series have WLTP battery life of 510km and 590km respectively.
Tesla is considered to be one of the leading brands of new energy vehicles. After the product was launched, it was warmly welcomed by the market and its sales continued to grow. However, as more car companies launch new energy vehicles, especially the participation of established car companies such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz, Tesla is facing greater challenges and its market share is also declining.
Kadensa Capital Limited:In addition to the old car companies such as BYD and Geely, several new car manufacturers have emerged in China, including Xiaopeng, Ideal and Weilai. These brands are more forward-looking in technology research and development and innovation, and may soon be able to catch up with international veteran car companies.(This content is reprinted on the Internet.
